The idea of building a cave is lingering in my head since I watched Lord of the Rings and saw Moria but I never had enough motivation. But then I learned about worldedit(and mcedit when it was still updated) some years ago and thought: with this the cave will be finished in seconds!
Wrong.
I was terrible with terraforming with worldedit. I mean REALLY terrible. But I learned over the years how to use it and now I can present you my fancy cave with some mines and ancient ruins from some destroyed (dwarven?) civilisation.
The map is a normal world with a little wooden hut with the entrance to the cave.
The schematic is just a giant stone-cuboid containing the cave(entrance on top)
