This is my submission for the interiors contest. I hope I did good, and if you think i did, make sure to diamond/favorite this post. Or else.
The Intro
I started getting into building/interior after I was a builder on Project Zearth. I was only active for a few months, but that's what really got me into building and what helped to form my style. After a bit, I also joined the Greenfield build team, which helped me develop more realism in my builds. I'm still building for Greenfield today, and another builder on there, oliv111, inspired some of the decor.
The Build In General
In general, there were a few things about the build I tried to do to make it feel more alive. I made it so there was a birthday party going on, which connected the build under one central theme, and gave a reason for more furniture to fill out the patio area.
Besides that, I generally tried to make the build very colorful, as adding different colors makes a room feel more interesting and alive. The screenshots are highly saturated to bring out this vibrancy.
With decor, I used a lot of banners, paintings, and item frames to break up and fill in the blank areas of the walls. I used carpet combined with concrete powder on many rugs to add depth and slight color variation to them. There are plenty of heads and other table decorations as well, as most surfaces in a house aren't empty.
Finally, I chose The Blue Lakes in the first place because it was the biggest. It would feel the most impressive if done well, and it gave me plenty of room to change rooms/layouts as well as add details without it feeling cramped.
The Front Yard
I added a large garden in the front in order to give it some more life. it has flowers, bushes, and some garden paths. Other than the garden, I added a basketball hoop, a mailbox, a tree, and some porch decorations, though.
The Entrance
The entrance is themed around blue colors to make it feel welcoming and connect the bright blue of the exterior to the many colors of the interior. The entrance hall is 2 stories tall, and the walls are detailed floor to ceiling to make sure it doesn't feel empty.
The Dining Room
For the dining room, the color palette is brown with some green and tan accents. It is open to both the kitchen and the entrance hall, but it has a more formal vibe compared to those two rooms, as dining rooms are not typically casual areas.
The Kitchen
The Kitchen has lots of light coming in, so and the walls are painted orange to match the light coming in. There is a modern-looking countertop, and some backsplash, utilising dead coral blocks. The floor is made of polished diorite and coal blocks, which gave it the feel of a traditional kitchen combined with those rich marble-like textures.
The Sitting Room
The sitting room is a small, formal area for guests to relax in. It has a fireplace with all the necessary tools, and generally has a cleaner aesthetic compared to the living room (besides some party balloons that drifted in, of course).
The Living Room
The living room is a bright, energetic area to watch TV and play some console games. It has a modern wall-mounted flatscreen TV with nearby bookshelves and cabinets. This area is near the back door, and has a lot of light coming in, adding to the brightness of the room.
The Upstairs Hall
The upstairs hall has a couple of large paintings to fit the large walls and high ceiling. There is plenty of wall decoration to keep it interesting, and a bit of storage, but not so much that it isn't functional as a hallway.
The Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is themed around warm colors, a red bed, and generally warm and bright decorations. It has a large dresser to fit plenty of clothes, some books, a nightstand with a lamp, and some open curtains letting in light. In general, the room is very grand and deserving of the title "Master Bedroom".
The Master Bathroom
The master bathroom is equally as luxurious. It has some interesting appliance designs, with a detailed toilet, sink, and shower. it's clean, yet still feels like someone actually uses it daily.
The 2nd Bedroom
This bedroom is themed around the color green, with some brown accents. However, it does not have the same propriety as the dining room. It's home to a kid who loves video games and chilling in bed.
The Backyard
The backyard has the previously mentioned birthday party, but it also features an in-ground pool, a grill, and a trampoline. The patio connects to the pool, which is big enough for a pool party and even has a diving board.
The Garage
In the garage, there is a small shelving unit, some boxes, and a pretty nice white sports car.
The Basement
The basement is a forgotten space tucked away under the front porch. The owners have no real use for it, so it is left to gather dust and spider webs.
