Welcome to the Epica Project
The Epica Project is essentially a central city sprawl that acts as the main, central hub for the surrounding continents, towns, villages, castles, ruins, caves, mines and puzzles to explore, complete and create/expand. The vast majority of destinations, points of interest and features in this map are accessible by train, dock/ocean or by road. Everything is pretty well sign posted and there are many information boards across the map.
This project is a small, personal project of mine which I have been slowly working on for the past couple of years or so. It started off as a small city project in adventure mode (originally block by block!) and then slowly progressed to something much, much more. Then, with the help of Creative mode, Mcedit and my dear partner in crime, it's finally taken shape into something I'd like to share with the community to enjoy, expand upon and, eventually, complete.
The Epica Project is:
Large city hub with 5 skyscrapers, plentiful housing and amenities (including stations and hospital) 2 NPC towns 2 Castles Secret underground base 2 puzzle ruins Egyptian-style pyramid tomb English-style stone henge Automated metro subway system Cross-county/biome/island/continent automated railway line 4 docks Interconnected roads, streets and sign posts (many, many sign posts) Spaceship/bomber aircraft with functional automated bomb bay Small island monument Many piston implementations, redstone circuitry, machines and easter eggs!
My hope is to see many different versions of this map, custom crafted by its players, that have taken many different routes and directions to make their own little Epica Project experiences.
It's not quite finished yet, there's still much more I want to add, but time is something I don't have much of. Which is why I want to see where you, the Planet Minecraft community, would have the project go.
So, please, hop onto the server or download the map and enjoy! : )
- Chris
