This is my first upload of one of my minecraft projects, hope you all enjoy!
I believe this is the largest submarine in minecraft (or soon will be) :)
I am basing the design of the Russian submarine the Kursk which sank in August 2000 in the Barents Sea. There are many technical in-accuracies including the double hull design, where each room goes and the layout of each room, i just want to make the submarine how i feel it should be made on the inside but so it looks like an Oscar 2 class submarine on the outside. Hope you all enjoy! Thankyou!

note: just the base it is resting on is around 20 by 180 blocks so around 3.600 blocks used for just the base layer!

Nice idea. I just did the same thing by miniturising a Kilo, but it has the feel of a Collins on the inside. Gotta hand it to you though, you're going to have quite a lot of spare room when you're done! I'd love to see the finished product, looks really good.

Just to get a conversation going, what's with the flatness typical of these Russian boomers? I understand that they make fantastic firing platforms, but even by boomer standards, they seem a little to squashed to be properly streamlined. Granted, these nuclear boats hardly require perfect hydrodynamic efficiency with that much power availble, and the simple use of a reactor kind of destroys the purpose of a quiet hull shape, but still...

Anyway, if you're lost for ideas as to what to put inside, you could think about a working VLS system. I like to place dispensers over red/yellow missiles and wire them to a control panel. Just load those babies up with some fireworks and there you go, the perfect VLS system. I'm currently using them on a few of my surface Fast-Attack Boats and FFGs.

I love the overall shape you've got on that boomer, though I'm not quite sure if the bow is right. It looks too much like a pyarmid to my eyes. Perhaps you could round that off a little. Also, if you were going towards more of a Oscar look externally, the sail is in the wrong place (should be further forward, about a quarter from the bow, and it's not elongated enough.) Sorry if it seems like I'm picking you design apart, but I just know a fair bit about subs.

Good evening! Thanks for the message, I do agree that the bow is a bit mishapen and I have made the hull a little too flat, even by the standards of the Russian subs that you mention. I have sort of pushed this project to one side, I am not really in the mood for finishing it, as I currently have my own battleship and aircraft carrier that I am working on ATM, as well as a Star Trek inspired ship (1:1 scale) :D
As far as the design of the real life submarine is concerned, I am not quite sure, I guess by making it as flat as possible you are reducing the amount of time taken to manufacture the curved plates and you can also make the plates larger by manufacturing them flat as opposed to curved. With most submarines the size is limited by the armament, mainly the missile tubes, but I am not entirely sure on the Kursk's class of subs.

I am thinking of making the Tirpitz, Bismarck, Hood or Yamato next, which one would you prefer? :D
