The Story of The North

  Long ago there were many settlements throughout the land, but all were divided. None of them wanted to be ruled by a single governing body so they opted for a simpler system. They were each ruled by a patriarchs house and each settlement was ruled individually. For hundreds of years these settlements were at war with each other and with the very primitive Southerners. All of the very primitve populace who were living past the Great Divide in the Southern reaches of the continent had decided that enough was finally enough and they banded together to unite under one flag. The South as it came to be known now was formed. They despised weakness and indulgence, regarding it as pathetic that people should not partake in harsh combat or work every day.
  The South was full of thousands upon thousands of residents while as the North only held a few hundred people even at the end of its time. Hardly anybody inhabited the region due to the overall wet and cold climate, but many preferred such a thing so there were still quite a few people living in the valley. All of the smaller settlements disbanded and Poradaro was left abandoned. It was later regarded as a mythical city and all of the small settlements that were inhabited for hundreds if not thousands of years prior were completely allowed to rot with time. Vinatora and Mina Gorath were constructed over many years of inhabitants finally banding together. After many years the South finally had its revenge. They implanted spies, poisoned crops, killed where they could, and generally caused the majority of the Norths problems.
  The people living there assumed that these troublemakers were just their own people or they thought they were foreigners who couldn't behave. They could not have known that the South was involved. The South then attacked for the first time in the regions history and the North was very outmatched. After a very long and bloody war the North won with the help of the Wizards and some godly intervention. Shortly there after the first king was appointed and from there on the region would be ruled by a king for over 1000 years. After their defeat the South could not accept peace. They feigned a truce for a long time waiting until the North had become its weakest in its history. The army of the North was unlike the first and was not suited for combat. The South were a primitive society who focused on warfare and battle for their entire lives. They were all excellent fighters who could best a league of well trained men. For 1000 years they bred the best warriors and generals possible, formulating a fool proof plan that required subterfuge and skill. When they had felt like they were finally ready after months of moving troops and supplies to the North, they invaded.
  The North was entirely unprepared. For centuries the South had been sending loyal spies and infiltrators into the North to weaken the government just as they had done before. They were tasked with sabotaging and killing anyone or anything they could in order to weaken the state. Advisors gave false information, soldiers would cause riots amongst other soldiers, spies would kill officials in the dead of night to hide them away, and many more horrible deeds were committed. Not only did the North only have a few towers guarding the region they were all highly untrained and undrilled. They had been at peace for so long that guards were basically tough security guards. Some homes, businesses, and even Mina Gorath managed to hold out for a few days, but none could withstand the South at that time. Any and all heroes of the land were slain in combat. Many who fled from Vinatora and the surrounding countryside sought refuge in Mina Gorath thinking that it would be a safer place to hold out, everyone in the city was dead by day five. The King retreated with his personal guard and some survivors into the mountain. They vanished without a trace shortly after entering the mountain. The South never discovered the hidden city as the knowledge of its existence was known only to the king. After the South had killed everyone in the North they waited for the intervention of the gods. They suspected that the gods would not be pleased with such an act, but none of them descended to fight. The Wizards and the people of Poradaro vanished entirely.
  The Southerners returned home to the South to find their homes ablaze. A 20,000 strong army had sailed in and wiped out the Southern territory. The army of the South had only 1,500 men and fought valiantly until the end. They were outnumbered, but they proved that day that what remained of the South was not weak nor under skilled. Only 6,000 of the invaders made it home and they never looked back. The invaders from the East assumed that there were more war like people on the continent like the Southerners so they did not return in fear of losing more troops. They spread the rumor around the world that there was such a force living throughout the land that was nearly unstoppable, but they did not know that no one remained at all. The continent, its magic fires and magical lanterns all still burn bright. What's left of the structures still remain. Untouched by time. The plunders of the land were all taken for the most part by the Southerners in their final raid. The secrets of the valley are forgotten to time. The land is empty and barren, entirely devoid of human life. They're all gone. Until you arrive...

There are now plenty of secrets and secret builds that are hidden around the map to encourage as much freedom as possible and to make this world feel more lived in :D

Thank you for reading any or all of the lore. It will help you get immersed into the world and story that I have woven. There is a lot that I have written both for this world and within it. The Vinatora Library holds many secrets, but if youre not interested in any of what ive written I implore you to at least look around. It will take you a few hours to fly around in creative so if you want a map that has a TON to see then leave your gamemode in survival.

Free exploration is highly encouraged and I, in fact, strove to make a world where the player has a lot of agency on where they can go. You cant really go anywhere without finding something that either I have built or fashioned to fit within my story structure. Regardless please explore to your hearts content and see all that there is to see. There are lots of items that can be found, some easter eggs, and quite a few builds that are very hidden so feel free to adventure through the forgotten land. There are 4-5 hidden builds now that are scattered about.

My goal with this world was to build an ancient civilization that felt previously lived in so there is a lot to see and I mean A LOT! All of the buildings, lore, and items are based both in real life as well as Minecraft. I wanted to give the feeling that the builds that I've completed look practical as well as functional. Most buildings and other structures are blocky, but they suggest age. The people that once lived in the valley were a practical and blue collar people. There were few rich people and only two actual rulers when the North was at its peak. Only a couple hundred people lived in the region at a time.

I do not and will not later use command blocks as I believe it ruins the Minecraft experience, but that's me. I only use whatever is available in creative and nothing more. I have thought of pretty much everything when creating each of the towns and other structures around the map. There is a LOT to explore and every building is fully furnished. I mean there is a lot though, like a whole lot. The roads are not the end of your journey as there are a ton of homes, logging families, little villages that I have made fit into the story, other wizard towers, and hidden secrets all over the place. I wanted to make a world where free exploration is encouraged so feel free to go wherever you wish. You will either hit the border or you will find another build no matter how far apart they may be. I have spent over a year building this world up in my spare time and I hope you guys enjoy it.

The Alpha Update is the current version that is now available. Version 1.0 will be available sometime this year. Many different pictures in the gallery and scenes will be changed/updated over time so be sure to keep up to date with my updates. Sorry about the gallery by the way, I know that it looks barren (it is) and that's kind of on purpose. I don't want you guys seeing too much and I want it to feel new when you see everything.

I am one person so updates will take forever to come out, especially since I've been working on the world practically nonstop for a few years. One tends to get burnt out when working on the same thing for hundreds upon hundreds of hours. Thank you all for all of the love and support I really do appreciate it. I cannot believe that this world has gained so much notoriety and if you want to see more then even a comment would suffice if you don't wanna jam up your feed with another worlds updates.
