Ever since the shipwrecks were introduced back when the oceans finally got their update with Minecraft 1.13, I was intrigued by the idea of building a sailing ship myself. I loved the size of the shipwrecks compared to the scale of the game, but not only were they not exactly built to be put to use as an actual houseboat (and otherwise what's the point of a ship in Minecraft, right?) – their overall look also left something to be desired, in my opinion. There was enough there to make me feel giddy with inspiration, but the design just wasn't particularly symmetrical or well-rounded. It took me almost four years to finally get around to building my own version, but now, at long last, I have.

As you can see from the pictures, my ship turned out to have more or less the exact same form and format as its model. Like the original, it has three masts, and it is 30 blocks long where the original measured 28 blocks in length. Unlike the original, it actually has sails instead of just empty masts. I even included a picture of my suggested design for rolled-up sails, in case you want to build the ship close to shore or in a harbor. As far as features are concerned: There are a roomy captain's cabin, an "engine room" (i.e. a furnace room), a large storage room below the center of the main deck, two small cabins, and a crow's nest.

All in all, I'm extremely happy with how the build turned out in the end – especially given how tedious of a process it was at first, and how little progress I made in the beginning (building organic shapes out of cubes simply isn't easy, at least not for me). Hopefully some of you will appreciate as well as I just how neatly this design combines realistic form and in-game functionality, and will have a lot of fun recreating it or using it as inspiration for your own iteration.

P.S.: I tried to include a .schematic file, but PMC would only let me upload a .zip file or a .schematic file. And I do think that more people will get some use out of a world save than will the blueprint.

Please feel free to use my designs anywhere you want. However, please don't publicly pass them off as your own by using them in a video or re-uploading them to your profile without providing a link to the original project. Thank you.

This is the shader I used for the screenshots, by the way.
