The first Italian aircraft appeared in 1978, after a year earlier, on December 5, 1975, the first prototype took off over the city of Turin (by agreement, the development of drawings and documentation was shared by Panavia Aircraft GmbH, but some of the components and final assembly of the aircraft took place in the operating country), but it only reached the unit in 1982: before that there was a long process of establishing production lines. Within the country, the car received its own name PA-200. In total, about 100 IDS series vehicles were built.
