This is a tutorial world and video that demonstrate how to build my Reliable XP Grinder. It's simple, it works well, and it requires very few resources: Just a pick, some cobblestone, torches, three signs, some water and a bucket (though more buckets save time).

Wouldn't it also be a beneficial idea to use redstone lamps as a sort of "off switch"?

Very nice, it helped me alot... But i thought the best way to do a water ladder in this case was to do:
Water>Sign>Water>Sign>Wa...... Even if it takes a lot more signs for nothing..

I guess i'll need to fix that in my world... :|

My previous version had alternating signs and water sources. I thought it had to be that way because downward-flowing water would push the monsters down. But if you use all source blocks, the water doesn't push the mobs down.
