Before I give you the history of the ship (which many of you may already know), an announcement:
I am currently constructing a massive project involving many of the ships I am posting these days.
I won't give too many details yet, but I am in need of help, so if you are good at:
The USS Arizona (BB-39) is a Pennsylvania-class battleship laid down in 1914 and commissioned in 1916.
She was not able to go and participate in World War I because of a fuel oil shortage in Britain; coal ships were sent instead. She did, however, escort President Wilson the the Paris Peace Conference.
Between the wars, Arizona did a lot of training and participated in fleet problems (exercises). From 1929 to 1931 she had a major modernization, changing much of her appearance.
In 1940, the pacific fleet battleships, including Arizona, were moved to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, as a deterrent to Japanese Imperialism.
In 1941, after the breakdown of negotiations between the US and Japan, the Japanese Navy launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, from 6 carriers. 3 bombs from Kaga and Hiryu hit Arizona before the fourth caused a massive magazine explosion.
1,177 officers and crew died on board Arizona during the attack, one of them was Admiral Isaac Kidd, the first US flag officer to die aboard their ship.
In 1962, a memorial was dedicated above the wreckage, which still remains in the harbor.
Today, you can still visit the memorial, and see the fuel oil floating up from the ship.
I have built this ship with full and accurate interior.
Special thanks to Yukikaze for c4d renders.

- 1930's industrial buildings (or something similar)
- recreating real buildings to scale with accuracy
- anything related to military bases, especially naval
