Wormhole Generator
The first thing steve noticed as his spaceship left the final layer of the atmosphere behind it, was the big shadow looming across the Earth. The next thing he noticed was the fact that he was failing to float around weightlessly, while he was definitely far enough from his home planet(or any planet, for that matter) to do so. And though the acceleration of his craft was pushing him backwards into his chair,
As the rocket went into orbit to prepare for the launch into outer space, he thought he saw shapes in the darkness, blotting out the stars. But he wasn't sure
Then they rounded the Earth. just before the sunlight blinded him, Steve got a glimpse of a huge structure hanging over the Earth's north pole. Then the filters of his screen kicked in, and he saw it more clearly.
It was awe-inspiring. The Gigantic structure consisted of a centre piece that peaked upwards and released a beam of strange light. On its four sides were funnels, each with a triple spiral on top, and some sort of multicolored flame on two sides.

This is my entry in the To The Stars Project Contest. It is not finished yet, and the structure visible in the picture will certainly not be the final one (well, in a way it is, but that's for later).
Why a Wormhole Generator, you ask? First of all, it's a method of interstellar travel that is theoretically achievable, providing you find a way to stabilize the wormhole. Second, it's more original than a spaceship, as those are severly overused in this contest (even though only a handful of them are actually worthy of being called spacecraft). So I decided to do something different.
Third: I'm not really good at building spacecraft anyway.
So that's explained. Now all I have to do is finish this build in time.

Things to be done
- move portal generator below earth (done)
- create 4 energy blasters
- finish 4 plasma generators (done)
- make steves rocket
- add teleporter to portal generator main room, and to all other rooms.
- make wormhole
- (if time allows) make giant spaceship that all are attached to by energy beams
- (if time alllows) make another world that the wormhole leads to.
Method of wormhole generation
The wormhole needs an astounding amount of energy to keep it stable. So we use a mixture of plasma and antimatter in plasma form to keep it open. Then there is the dark energy, which isn't so dark as you might expect. It is shot from 4 blasters, caught by a deflector on each plasma generator, and directed downwards. The plasma is guided trough a series of antimatter portals (the ones on the picture), and sent into the wormhole.
The 4 plasma generators have crystallized antimatter and crystallized plasma stored on top (those are the inner 2 spirals). Inside, this is decrystallized and allowed to take its natural form. Both are kept in hypercompact forcefields to prevent reaction with the environment.
