Yellow Racing Car

this is a race car design I made in February 2022. I built it right before the Lamborghini Countach just for fun and to test some things. Back then there was no bamboo wood yet, so birch was the closest color to yellow available but the car looked weird with birch trapdoors everywhere because of their large white square in the middle.
I recently rediscovered it while finishing up the R3000/T08A2 Alakuneda Spider Tank because I started building that one around the same time (must have been early January 2022 because it sits right in between the John Deere 7R Tractor and the Ford V8 Coupe) but didn't know how to make the white sphere and rear body at the time.
I always liked the shape of the car, the only thing that annoyed me were the birch trapdoors. Now I updated it with bamboo blocks which gives it a much more cohesive look. I still kept some birch trapdoors because I like how the white squares (in the right places) look like ads on the car.

It is loosely based on a Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R which inspired the long hood with influences from Keisuke Takahashi's Mazda RX-7 from "Initial D" which lent the color palette and maybe even the Trans Am 20000 WR from "Redline" which, upon checking, looks nothing like I remember it but I remember remembering it while building the car. Maybe I mixed the shape of Sonoshee McLaren's Crab Sonoshee with the Trans Am's color palette in my mind, I don't know. I think the Trans Am inspired the overly large air intake, though. I feel like there also were influences from General Grievous's ship, the Soulless One, with its far back shifted cabin that basically gets pulled by the far front engines, almost like a Podracer. I wanted to make a car that looks cool, fast but also slightly ridiculous or over the top but still believable.
Actually, I think it was unconsciously inspired by Tim Burton's Batmobile from 1989 more than anything else.
