Aquo Prison Server

Back-story

The American government was forced to close Guantanamo Bay after a substantial amount of complaints from foreign governments, concerning the actions taking place inside. After 20 years of being shut down, the UN finally realized they needed a place to store the worst prisoners known to man. As with Guantanamo Bay they needed a highly secure location, with zero chance of escape. After making a list of various spots to build this prison, the final decision came down to the new wardens. They decided to create the prison underwater under the name of Aquo Prison Facility.

All these prisoners in Aquo Prison Facility are sentenced to mining for their freedom. Once they get to the level of freedom they need to prove themselves worthy of returning to the rest of humanity. So far no one is known to have completed this difficult task.

Rules

On Aquo prison, there are two different types of rules. The first type is a server rule. Server rules MUST be followed. These are the sort of rules that most servers have that will get you either warned, kicked, muted, or sometimes even banned (if ito s very severe). All of these server rules are listed below:

• Do not spam excessively. This can be anything from simply spamming a single letter or word continuously , up to spamming a link or a sentence repetitively.
  
  
• Do not constantly use capitals. The odd word now and again is acceptable but please don't do more than a few words or whole sentences.
  
  
• Do not use offensive language aimed at other players. Everyone else on the server also wants to enjoy it as much as you so please don't ruin it for them
  
  
• Do not use any hacks or transparent texture packs. These make it unfair on other players. We do have systems to detect these , and people found using them will be punished harshly.
  

Then we also have prison rules. These are the sort of rules guards will kill or jail you for. These rules will only be enforced by guards unless there are extraordinary circumstances. Here are our prison rules:

• Do not HNR (Hit and run) or KNR (Kill and run). Kill and run is an instant five minute jail , while you will be jailed for 5 minutes on your 3rd hit and run warning. As with all of these rules , these times will extend if you repeatedly break them.
  
  
• Do not camp. This is waiting for another player , or guard to come out of an area with the intention to kill them. You will get a single warning for this , and then get a five minute jail if you continue.
  
  
• Do not wear or hold contrabands. Contrabands are illegal items in the prison , a full list of them can be found below. If you are in a PVP zone and breaking this rule , a guard will attack you on site , whereas if you are in non-PVP , a guard will count down from 5 seconds for you to hand over all the contrabands. If you fail to do this , you will get five minutes in jail.

Underwater Info

With our server being unique in the fact that it is underwater, we have had to implement several custom plugins. The main one you as players need to know about is 'diver', developed by our very own 'TheNotch3000'! As our mines are all underwater, you are obviously going to need a way to breath down there. This is where diver comes in.

Diver allows you to equip a glass block on your head as a scuba diving kit, allowing you to breathe underwater! As well as this, your scuba diving gear also has a light attached that will brighten up your surroundings underwater. To make up for the slower mining underwater, you will also receive some potions effects while mining to boost your speed up a bit, to a similar speed you would mine above the surface!

When you first enter the coal block mine room , go up to the left wall. Here , you can buy a single block of glass for $100. This may seem quite a lot to start with , but its a one off purchase basically. As once you buy one glass , you can just dive , mine some sand and smelt some more for a lot cheaper!

To dive , you just do the command /dive! Simple as that . This will make you equip the glass block on your head. A single glass block allows you to stay underwater for 5 minutes. It also gives you a couple of effects to speed up the mining process. You can check how much time you have left on your helmet by doing the command /divetimeleft. The timer stops ticking as soon as you exit the water , so don't worry about wearing the helmet anywhere in the prison!

Once the helmet starts running low on time , you will get some warnings at specific time intervals. If you have another glass block in your inventory , then it will automatically replace the broken one once the time runs out , but if you don't have one , you will start to drown , so be careful !

Every time you rank up you will get access to the next block! Each block you rank up into will contain better facilities , and better way of making money! You can sell everything you gather or collect in the shop , on the opposite side of the main courtyard to the spawn!

Unlike many other prison servers , we also have a new unique way of ranking up in free! We feel that on too many prison servers , there is not enough to aim for when you are free. Because of this , we have decided to split free up into 3 sub-ranks , called tiers , with Free-T1 being the highest rank , and Free-T3 being the first rank when you enter free. To rank up in free , similarly to the prison , you will have to gather resources and sell them in the free shop. The catch is though , the higher tier you are , the more items you can break/collect/do. A Free-T1 can do anything , whereas Free-T3 will only be able to do basic tasks like cutting wood , mining stone and coal , collecting wheat. Ranking up in free will not take you as long as in the prison , as you've already gone through that tedious process , but it is still an extra challenge to aim for!

Staff

The server staff are here to keep the server running properly , and improve it in any way they can. They will also moderate the players. Here is a list of the staff :

Moderators have a variety of different roles. Although they do help us wardens moderate the server, they also have the ability to play as guards if they are required. This is done through another of our custom plugins. We have methods in place to stop a moderators creative and survival inventory mixing together , and they are also players we trust , so please do not accuse them of cheating in any way unless you have solid proof. Moderators also act as our head guards. They are in charge of recruiting our guards (although wardens will also do this) , and organising the guard force. A moderator is not always guarding , so please ask them if they are before assuming they are!
