ArmySMP
is a new server focused on providing a true Minecraft survival experience with a military twist. The server runs Bukkit and has only one plugin, "Army," which handles everything. I'm an experienced plugin developer and have created this plugin from scratch for the unique purpose of ArmySMP. Read on and if you like what you see, log in!
Upon joining,
you will be made a Private and spawn in the base. You should be near the inprocessing center, where you can read about a few of the plugin's commands and ranks. As long as you remain in the base, you cannot be hurt nor can you destroy blocks. At this point you can have an officer claim an amount of land for you to build on within the base; there is a barracks and also some empty space just for this purpose. Of course, you can always build outside the base, but it won't be protected.
When you reach Corporal in a few days,
you will have more privileges than before. You are now able to claim land for yourself outside the base territory, as long as you use "/army unclaim" first to remove your previous home. At Corporal, you may now build within the base without claimed land.
Post exchanges
are the shops of ArmySMP. Every rank has a salary, and you start with a small bonus. When you are inside a post exchange building, you have access to commands such as "/army buy" and "/army sell". "/army px" displays the list of available items.
As you increase in rank,
you will receive more and more privileges. Various ranks have access to higher level commands. Most importantly, each rank has a higher salary than the last, and a higher maximum claimed land area.
Commissioned officers
are like the staff or moderators of the sever. They build inside the base, claim outside it, earn high salaries, and have access to the highest commands. They also have the responsibility of guiding new soldiers, banning bad ones, and claiming land for the junior enlisted. At this point, direct appointment is the only way to become a commissioned officer. However, in the future, the Army plugin will have ROTC.
