Welcome and thank you for visiting! Please allow me to introduce myself... I am AZ. As a big fan of both Minecraft and Dark Age of Camelot's RvR, I and a few friends (Sicyn, Huntpor, and Krunkur) decided it was time to take what the Minecraft Mod/Pluggin community was developing and attempt to recreate the Dark Age RvR glory days!

So what is Dark Age of MineCraft? Good question! At a high level, its about joining a faction, then working with others to capture towers, towns, mines, and castles so that your faction (and you) gain control points. The first faction to reach the Winning Point total, wins the match! A match can last anywhere from a half hour, to days, depending on how high the Winning Point total is set. But theres more to it than just that...

Everyone initially starts with a wooden sword, leather armor, and 5 apples. From there, you're on your own. Since the world is NOT destructable we have put alternate methods for gathering items needed to craft/brew/enchant. Find the 5 hidden chests. Each game, they are initially stocked with random items from stone swords to diamond armor to golden apples to rare potion/enchantment ingredients. Or, capture the Mines/Graveyard/Mill/Hold to loot items related to those locations. Each scoring tick (every ten minutes) the loot is replenished in those areas, so holding those areas could become important. Then, after gathering the raw materials needed, head to a town to find a crafting table and make what you want. Or capture a castle to use its brewery and enchantment table. So what happens to the hard work you put into finding these materials and making the equipment? Another good question. You keep it! Your inventory is not wiped out from match to match. You've earned it, why would I take it away?

Finally, we have a few more ideas that will be implemented over time: Relics! (hold a relic in your controlled castle and you get bonuses for your faction) Classes! Gain a special skill based on the class you select for a given match. Want to try a different class? Next match choose a different one! Leaderboards! Both in game and on the site. Prove your the best! We'll track individual points, kills, deaths, etc. You'll see how you compare to others. Currency/Vendors! Acquire the proper currency and get equipment, potions, and enchantments from the ingame vendors.

So today, I'd like to welcome you into the initial testing stages and get your feedback and ideas of what else you'd like to see. This IS beta. The server might crash. There could be lag. Things might not go the way you hope. Your inventory will be wiped upon launch (and possibly throughout testing). Our goal is to test drop rates, make sure things work correstly, and add in final pieces to the game. Where we go from here is up to you! We can make this what you want it to be, incorporating great ideas from the community.
