Factions is just so meh and if you log on a random Minecraft server there's a 50/50 chance it's faction one.

There are a lot of great gameplay altering plugins out there and you should use one of those instead, if you run a factions server no one's gonna really appreciate your builds, because no one with good building skills joins a factions server.

If you want a good alternative, try towny; focused a little more on building instead of rading and tearing down, but if you want to, there's still plenty of that to go around.
