β“Semi” Vanillaβ
Here at Greenback we are a 'semi' vanilla server. We aim to keep things as close to the authentic survival experience, with as little deviation from that core aspect as possible. Our motto is "Keep it simple" and as such we've only added a handful of useful commands such as /tpa, /home and /spawn. The more OP commands such as /fly and /top CANNOT be bought with money, rather a player must purchase them with in-game currency.
βGrief Preventionβ
To limit and prevent excessive grief, we make use of the Lands plugin on Greenback! The Lands plugin allows all players to create their own regions, safe from grief and mobs. All players are given 1 free land with 4 free chunks of claim land and earn an extra chunk of claimable learn through every 8 hours of playtime!

In order to capture the true, classic, Minecraft experience we only have a total of 11 ranks, including staff and donation ranks. All players are treated equally and donation ranks do NOT grant any advantage over regular players. All donation ranks are entirely cosmetic and we only have 3 staff ranks. In the theme of 'keeping it simple', there is only Owner, Senior Moderator, and Moderator. We have chosen to run things this way to avoid confusion and make it as easy as possible for players to find the help they need!

For every vote that you cast, you receive one VOTE key. A VOTE key can be redeemed at one of our 3 crates located in the spawn region. Additionally, every 25 votes start a VoteParty. Each VoteParty gives all players who participated in the voting an additional PARTY key. PARTY keys can be redeemed for even greater rewards, such as elytras, tools, and money! One of the prizes is the LEGENDARY key! LEGENDARY keys can only be won from the VOTE and PARTY crates, or purchased using Vote Points. As such, they are VERY rare and drop some amazing in-game rewards!

We pride ourselves on bringing back the old-style Minecraft community feels. All of our staff are dedicated to the community, and we also run both weekly and monthly competitions/events. Additionally, all players are welcomed into the community with ongoing community builds and plenty of community projects. There are community farms, towns, and other crazy builds!

We have now been open for around 3 weeks! During that time, we've hit our first 100 unique player joins and a peak of 16 players on at once!
PLUGINS
We've added even more new plugins, mostly in the form of aesthetic perks for donator ranks. The vote rewards have also been tweaked AGAIN, with some awesome new loot being added. Additionally, there have also been even more bug fixes to ensure everything keeps running smoothly!

ο»ΏThe official GreenbackServers website is now live and running! As part of this, the donator perks have also been released!
COMMUNITY
Over the past week, there has been even more progress. The town at /warp south has expanded, and we've had 2 new player towns pop up with their own warps at /warp babeville /warp lynchburg! We've still got our few dedicated staff, and our day-to-day player base is continuing to grow. On an average day, we get close to 10 players in the mornings (AEST) and 5-7 players in the night (AEST). There's also a creeper spawner being constructed and the tree farm is still being built.
We've also now built a PvP arena, so players can test their might against others! Outside of /warp pvp, there is a city popping up, built mostly by me!
Overall, we've seen some awesome growth and I hope to continue the growth over the coming weeks!
I got introduced to this server maybe about 2 weeks ago and since then I have been playing like crazy!
Not much lag because the clear lag goes off quite fast. Not too many plugins that it feels modded or anything, just enough that you can still enjoy that fun Vanilla game play with such an amazing community! They have voting rewards set up so you feel motivated to vote! The moderators are amazing and so helpful.

first of all I was on a hunt for a server that has a small community because I wanted a vanilla server that my friend group can play on since quarantine got us doing literally nothing. Right when I just I had a bunch of people greeting me which was epic. I love servers with people who actually talk to each other.
Also, my friends and I were so shocked at how nice everyone on the server was. Anytime we needed supplies or something we got someone to help in literally 2 seconds.
I honestly don't experience any lag on this server and everything seems to be running smoothly.
Also, the players are so loyal! Not once did anyone grief or steal from me which makes things much less stressful. Also, the owner is super helpful and tries his best to check up on everyone so thanks luke.
Obviously this server still has a long way to go because it has not been running as long as all these other servers have but I think it has great potential <3

In every town people created, you'll atleast find 3-4 blaze spawner constantly on, causing lag.
It ends up with naturally spawned mobs or other mob spawners not working anymore.
Maybe poorly made anti lag system? Idk.
every town in there has atleast 30 cows/pigs/sheeps and whatsoever packed in a 8x8 barn.
So yeah get ready for an laggy expierence.
If they can sort out such things, maybe have an actual rule system and less of the "Everyone do whatever they want" the server CAN be a nice place. But for now i'd rather mark it as anarchy than an actual towny server. Poor 2b2t feeling, with mods/plugins.
I suggest you try it yourself and get your own view, you might expierence something else than i did.

Despite that, by all means I do agree that there is a lot of room for improvement on the server. We have been open for a grand total of 20 days and the whole server was self-funded and created by one person. To say that it's incomplete is kind of a stretch though. We have a /rule list and rule system, we have staff, we have a goal and we have a play style.
In response to 'it's only staff and regular players', I'd just like to point out that they are all people who have floated along and decided to stay. I didn't bring a single person to the server other than relatives who play.
Lag? I have a tps report that runs on the server and the server has not hit below 17 tps in over 2 weeks. In order for it to be laggy, it must be something to do with you. In response to the mob lag, I have a plugin that kills mob ai within a certain radius if there are too many spawned. This limits massive mob farms, but does not kill the ai server-wide.
To be completely fair, I think this review doesn't really do the server any justice. Am I biased because it's my server? Yes. Am I the only one who thinks that? No. I welcome all criticism and I have been updating the server daily in line with player suggestions and balancing fixes.

new chunks are loaded server kills the KI of all mobs, they don't move, they don't swim in water, they don't take any damage.
I don't do your server justice? My review is honest, ive shown you what i personally don't like, if you can't deal with it, it is simply not my problem.
I've shown with my review what's wrong, yet all you did is put the energy in responding to me and telling me that i am wrong, nice. Beside that really nice mature staff you have got right there.

I also believe you don't do the server justice as all you did was trash talk it. You didn't point out the fact that every time a new player joins they are welcomed and introduced to the world. You also didn't point out that there is a large amount of community build going on. You left out many of the positive factors that the server has.
Yes, you highlighted some of the less polished areas of the server. I didn't deny that there is still work to be done, but also still believe that your review is definitely biased and unfair.
Again, I have no records of you joining our server under the username Quitbow so I don't know how you even tried out the server.
Finally, I don't condone the way that Serpent went about messaging you if they even did. They are a very vital and key player to the server and they were obviously insulted by the fact that someone trashed talked the server, despite the fact that there was no records of them.

We have now been open for almost 2 weeks! During that time, we've had almost 50 unique player joins and a peak of 10 players on at once!
PLUGINS
We've added a variety of new plugins, such as SimplePets, colored names and MCMMO. The vote rewards have also been tweaked, with some awesome new loot being added. Additionally, there has also been a bunch of bug fixes to ensure everything keeps running smoothly!
COMMUNITY
Over the past 2 weeks there has been some amazing progress within the community. Not only do we have a regular player base of 15-20 players who jump on at least every few days, but we have also taken on 2 staff members. On top of that, there has been some awesome constructions made with a farm built at /warp west, and a tree farm currently being built at /warp north. There's also a player town with a community XP farm being made at /warp south by some of the more dedicated players!
