This is the guide for new players at KoW, this is a must read before you can be sorted into a faction.

Basic Premise

This is a two faction server and that is the major driving force behind how things are set up and how the rules were decided upon. Everything is arranged so that each faction has a fair chance at winning given enough time. The server is set up so that there will eventually be a winner, and afterwards we will have a map wipe and the game will start again (probably with the same teams). Along these lines, betraying your team is a strict offense and will earn you a VERY quick ban.

Rules

• No Cheating. This goes without saying. X-Ray, speed and client hacks are not allowed. Any sort of client automation is not allowed. Minimaps, Optifine and other non-invasive client mods are okay.
  
• No betraying your team. This includes stealing for yourself and stealing to help the opposing faction. Players receiving goods stolen from their enemy faction will also face penalties. Anyone found to be doing that will have all their changes on the server rolled back and they will be banned (so really, it's not worth it if you like the server).
  
• Personal attacks are not allowed. Verbal attacks on the premise of race, religion, creed, nationality, opinion, etc will earn you a temporary ban / permaban depending on severity. Shit talking between factions is totally acceptable otherwise (cursing in chat is allowed too). The focus here is basic human respect for all persons regardless of faction status.
  
• Do not offer teleports to players who aren't in a faction. New players are locked in the spawn for a reason, and shouldn't be assisted in leaving until they are sorted into a faction. This helps keep players away from trying to start their own groups, which is against the general server idea.
  

Gameplay

• The name of the game is Red vs Blue. Once you're sorted your mission should be the destruction of the opposing team.
  
• To win, one faction must claim across the distance between the two bases and claim over the center starting chunk of the other team. Only the center chunk matters for winning. You can claim over an enemy chunks that aren't their center and the game will continue.
  
• Players start as recruits in their faction, and as such will have limited abilities within their faction until they're promoted to member status. Please be ready for this as we frequently have new players that can't be trusted in a faction.
  
• We reserve the right to remove any player who isn't qualified for this game style. We have a lot of trouble with young players who don't get the concepts we're trying to play with. If you don't fit in with your faction, and we don't see a way to make things work, you will be removed. There is no set age limit on this server but some level of maturity is required.
  

Claims / Power / Factions

• Power regain is set VERY LOW. Regain is 1.5 power per hour. This makes the endgame more feasible. As the game advances each faction will have so many players that it will be hard to get them under power otherwise.
  
• Player power goes from -4 to +1, instead of the usual -10 to +10, this prevents factions from growing too quickly, so as to prolong the game. It's easier to hurt than to help your faction.
  
• Claims must be touching! This is important, as you can be underpower for the early game, but once the faction claims reach eachother (in a chain across the map) you can certainly be claimed over.
  
• Faction leaders (myself for Red and CaptainBorris for Blue) aren't always available. We are putting a lot of power into the faction system so that faction officers can run the show. This is to make sure there's player support available at most hours of the day. You can make contact with us either through reddit or via in game /mail
  
• Sorting into factions will be mostly random, with attempts to keep the player numbers on both sides balanced.
  
• Players are not allowed to leave or change factions. If you have a problem with how you were sorted you can leave. Both factions need their fair share of people. Special arrangements can be made for players who are friends with people on a particular team so we don't have people trying to conspire one way or the other.
  
• If there is nobody online to accept you into Red or Blue you will have to wait. It's hard to arrange for a system where players can get to work without someone presiding over what they do. Please be patient, we all make our best effort to be online when we can.
  

Donations

While I'm not currently set up to accept donations, it is on the agenda for the future. I'm letting it be known now thatdonators WONT be receiving any gameplay perks or items.Donator perks will only be visual or non-functional such as capes, blocks for heads, creative world (maybe), etc.

I am not looking to add much to the server in terms of gameplay mods, but I am certainly open to considering it (but definitely not MCMMO).
