Please check our website for all the information to help you know what to do when you log in. This isn't just a vanilla minecraft server and takes some adjusting to. this is also a doorway into our Tekkit and FTB servers under development.
OK latest update... most of the moderators etc have all moved on to Tekkit, and now FTB... as such the Vanilla (bukkit, but only requires vanilla client) Maroochycraft server is a ghost town lately... as such if you and your friends want a nice quiet place to play... feel free. The server itself has been running since 1.0 (3rd map incarnation of Maroochycraft) and we want to keep that history... it also means you have to adventure a bit to find the newer features spawning. There is still a fair amount of land on the main continent still available to build and no-one has really made much on other continents. Read the books at spawn to orientate yourself to how the server works (yes... scripted books in a bookshelf... not a rules board full of signs).
Oh yes, watch for Herobrine... on Maroochycraft he is VERY REAL and VERY DANGEROUS.
