The unfortunate end of Ancient Origins:



I had created and opened Ancient Origins to the public in February of 2021, the goal was to create a true anarchy experience for the Origins mod, a world free of rules and survival left to the skills of the player and the powers of their origin. However as in the real world, among the chaos order will begin to appear and try to put things into place. In my year of running this server I've had multiple people assist me in the maintenance of Ancient Origins, unfortunately most of which wished to bring order to the chaos in a form of an SMP. As time had gone on, I grew close to these people and had considered them close friends despite our disagreements concerning the principals of Ancient Origins. By July of 2021 it was becoming increasingly clear that these people had no longer wished for me to be apart of the very server I had created, and so seeing them as friends I decided to eventually step down and hand my creation over. January of 2022 I stepped down as owner filled with regret, I was not able to keep Ancient Origins on the path I had set nearly a year ago, and at this point there was not much else I could have done. I felt nothing but disgust and hatred towards my creation that I had once loved, it had been twisted into an ego inflating private SMP right under the noses of all the players. Those who I had once considered friends had simply wanted my creation for themselves, and I had foolishly let them do so. In the end Ancient Origins had lost, and after a year of constant war, the SMP players had finally landed the killing blow.
