What is PixelSkies?
PixelSkies is a fun, Towny-RPG Hybrid server, giving players a pay-to-win free experience. Being a Towny-RPG Hybrid means PixelSkies features an entirely useable world with the towny plugin paired with RPG aspects, like quests, custom levels, and more. The towny plugin allows players to create towns, which they can then add their friends to, claim land, and create a town of their own.
The features of PixelSkies
PixelSkies has many custom aspects and features to keep the game fresh and fun for players, such as custom levels, quests, crates, cosmetics, and more.
Custom levels are levels which are earned through gaining custom exp from quests, killing monsters, and mining ores. Throughout leveling up, players will earn commands, crate keys, and more. Players can see their level and exp with the /level command.
Quests are objective-based missions which reward exp, money, and items by helping NPCs around the town.
Crates, located in spawn, and opened through crate keys, which can be earned by donating, voting, and leveling up, give players various items, such as iron bars, exp, or even diamonds! Note that the keys earned from donating do not receive in-game items, and rather reward players with rare cosmetics.
Player shops, located in spawn and through /warp shop, can be rented out for three days with $15000. The players can then set up chest shops, and can buy and sell items amongst eachother. Be careful, though, after 3 days, anyone can claim a shop and the past player’s items.
PvP is something that towny servers generally do not include. On PixelSkies, however, PvP is slightly different than normal, in that it’s only enabled at nighttime. When the clock hits a certain hour, a message will display in chat noting that PvP is enabled for the rest of the night. During this time, players can fight to their will, or hide until morning, when a new message will notify players of the daytime, signifying the end of the PvP period for the day.
PixelSkies Website and Staff
PixelSkies is not just a server, though, but a community. The website, pixelskies.net, features many different pages, such as a forum for players to discuss, a help section, where players can view the PixelSkies administration team and the rules, a shop, to buy ranks and earn cool perks while helping out the server, and an application, where anyone can apply to become Trainee rank on PixelSkies.
The forum features three main forums, with several discussion subforums in each. The four forums are Community, where players discuss and have fun, Wiki, where players and staff can post about things on the server, like quest guides, tips and tricks, and news, and Staff Assistance, where players make player reports, bug reports, and suggestions on how we can improve the server,.
The shop has three main donation packages, Knight, Noble, and Royal. They are ranks, or perks, in-game, which can be bought on the website. The ranks will give players a custom tag before their name in chat and above their head, a custom tag after their name on the forum, a weekly reward of legendary keys, used for gaining extra-rare cosmetics, and cool, fun cosmetic effects in-game, such as disguises, pets, and particle trails. The donor ranks can be purchased at pixelskies.net/shop.
The PixelSkies Staff Team consists of several varying ranks, which all have different roles on the server. The first rank is Admin. Admin rank is only given to a few trusted people on the server, as Admins are very important in the development of the server. There is no special way to be promoted to Admin, it is completely by choice of the current Admins. Trainee is the next, more common rank. Trainees are chosen amongst the applications at pixelskies.net/application. Once a player has filled out the application form, they can be either denied or accepted. If accepted, the player will automatically receive Trainee rank. Trainees will moderate in chat and on the forums, and must be very well acquainted with the rules. The final staff rank is Mod. Mod rank is achieved by being promoted as a Trainee. Mods will moderate not only chat and the forums, but will also moderate gameplay, such as finding hackers, cheaters, or anyone who violates the gameplay rules.
We thank all who have read this post, and hope to see you on PixelSkies.
