We've been building a skyblock server called SkellyMC for a while now and it's finally at the point where we need real players on it. It's in open beta, so expect the odd bug and some balance changes while we figure things out. That's the whole reason we're posting really, we want people to play it and tell us what feels off.
Pretty much everything is custom. We wrote our own skyblock plugin instead of stacking a bunch of public ones together, so it all feeds into one progression system.
You start on a small floating island with a tree and a chest and grow it from there with upgrades like better generators, a bigger island and more minion slots. You can name your island and the top islands get shown off in the hub. There are 30 biomes to unlock for your island too.
Minions actually do work. They mine and farm for you and you can level them up to X. Chunk collectors and auto sell chests take care of the rest if you like automating.
The economy is player driven. Market prices move with supply, so if everyone dumps cobble it gets cheap fast. There's an auction house, buy orders where players can fund bulk requests, and a sell menu that shows you a live quote before anything sells.
There are five skills (mining, foraging, farming, combat and fishing) with ranks and perks, daily contracts, and collections that permanently raise what your items sell for. Your Sky level goes to 50, and after that there's Ascension up to 100 for the people who like to grind.
Cosmetics are things like name colours, titles and pets that follow you around, and there's a weekly shop that rotates.
We also have proximity voice chat with Simple Voice Chat. It stays off until you agree to it in game, so nobody hears you unless you want them to.
Bedrock players can join as well, crossplay works through Geyser.
The servers are in Germany so EU ping is best, but it should play fine from most places.
