Welcome to the Veneficus server's forum page.

This is the first place to go when you want information about the server, this
includes any downtime that we may be experiencing and any updates we are making.


What is Veneficus and why should i join?

Veneficus is a community driven survival server with a safe and secure environment.

The plugins that are installed on the server are all heavily modified so
that they feel very balanced in that nobody can cheat their way to
success, but everyone can still enjoy themselves with the amazing benefits we provide.

We have a player driven economy where spawned items are forbidden even by
the server Owner or Administrator, this means that it is incredibly stable
and that prices will only change when the players decide.

When you die in on Veneficus and you have a chest in your inventory, your
items will go into a spawned chest where you died and will be locked using
LWC for One Hour, after this time anybody can claim your items so be quick!

We also have an Optional PvP system which enables you to take part in PvP
only if YOU want to take part in PvP, please type "/PVP" ingame to toggle!

There are a number of Staff available to contact if you have any issues or
any suggestions to make to help the server.
To contact a member of Staff, either type "/helpop" followed by your message,
or type "/mail send " followed by your message to a member of Staff.
If you do contact a member of Staff in this way you will most likely
not be helped.

What are the Rules?

No Hacking is allowed on the server, if you attempt to hack
it will be detected and you will be banned.

No begging for Items or Ranks, anyone that breaks this rule
will be immediately muted for one hour without warning.
Note: Begging means repeatedly asking for something even when refused.

No seriously offensive language, this does not mean that
swearing is not allowed, it means that racist/sexist comments
or excessive swearing is against the rules.

No offensive creations, for example, pixel art of genitals.

Be respectful to your fellow player, this means no scamming,
spamming, or generally disrupting gameplay. (See below)

No Griefing, this is a confusing subject for some people.
Simply put, if a player has not protected his belongings then he is
eligible to be raided by anybody on the server who chooses to do so.
If a player chooses to constantly harass another player by raiding very
frequently or stalking someone with the sole intent of killing them or
otherwise spoiling their gaming experience.
Note: If this occurs please inform a member of staff and they will look
into the matter and revert any changes made by the offending party if necessary.

Do not advertise other servers while you play on Veneficus.

What Features are included?


We have a good selection of plugins installed, not all of them will be listed here
we will only list the important ones that will affect your gameplay the most!

Chestshop - Due to our player maintained economy most of our players
choose to create a Chest Shop. This allows anybody to buy or sell items at
any price they want. If you need more information on how to create a ChestShop
just read the book given to you in-game.

Creeperheal - Dont you just hate it when a creeper pops around the corner
and blows everything up? How about when some twat feels the need to grief your area
by using TNT? Well that is no longer a problem, with CreeperHeal everything blown up
will automatically heal itself block by block a short time after the explosion.
Note: Fire will not be reversed using CreeperHeal, if a griefer decides
to take it upon himself and burn your house down, let a Staff member know about it.

Disguises - I'm sure everyone loves a bit of mucking around with a disguise on.
On the Veneficus server only Staff members and Donator ranks are allowed to use disguises
but remember you can always get a Donator rank by earning points from events/voting!

Towny - This plugin allows people to create their own towns that enables
players to claim chunks (16x16 block area) and protect their land. This also
allows players to become a Mayor or King and charge their town residents
for their use of the chunks claimed by the town. There are far too many
features to list here so check out the book in-game!

LWC and Lockette - We are currently using both of these plugins due to the
ease of one plugin and the extra protection of the other. LWC is a command
heavy plugin with instructions in a book in-game, but it offers great protection.
Lockette is quite simple where you place a sign and write [Private] on it to
protect chests and doors, again more information is available in-game!

Multiverse - We currently host two worlds, a survival world and a creative world.
Everyone can access the Survival world, whereas access to the Creative world is heavily limited.

Login Security - Everyone knows that its very easy to lose your account to hackers!
To help prevent that from causing chaos to your land on Veneficus, we offer
the possibility to protect your account even more by registering with a different
password that is only used on the server.
Note: This is highly recommended as we cannot differentiate two different people
using the same account, thus we will not roll back anything that you specifically do.

MCMMO - This plugin changes a very large amount of the vanilla minecraft experience
by allowing you a large amount of RPG inspired skills that you can level up through use.
If you need more information on this plugin i highly recommend reading the book
provided in-game. You can also find more information by typing "/MCMMO help".
I would highly recommend the Party function, type "/party" for more information!
If you do not want to participate in this far from vanilla experience, simply
type "/mcability" to turn off all MCMMO related abilities.

MyPet - Ever wanted to have your own pet Enderdragon? I know i have... well fat chance of that!
This feature allows any player to tame a variety of pets, moost basic pets
are avilable to all players, but there are some pets that are only available
to people who have earned points in-game or donated for the extra benefits.

Spleef - I'm sure everyone knows what spleef is but for those who dont.
The concept of spleef is that a group of players is placed on a field of snow
blocks and each player is given shovels to break the snow. To win the game you
must dig the snow out under another players feet to send them to their death
below in a pit of lava! Winner takes all!

BattleArena - Pure PvP action in this intense minigame!
Be placed into an arena ready to duke it out with other players in a winner
takes all fight to the death!

PropHunt - This minigame makes two teams, a hunter, and a hider.
The hiders are disguised as bouncing blocks until they decide to stay still
in a place for a set amount of times to be disguised into the background as
that block. The hunter must find the hiding players and kill them to turn
them into hunters too. Who will win? Hunters or Hiders?

Horde - Pit yourself with or without friends against a horde of monsters!
Take up arms against the monsters in this intense minigame where you fight for
your life, if you manage to defeat the horde you will be well rewarded!

Citizens - Bored of all the real players around you? No problem!
On the Veneficus server we have a variety of NPC's that you can interact
with on a daily basis, from simple NPC's which you can have a conversation with
all the way to roaming quest based NPC's that may give you rewards for your actions!

Prism - This allows not only Staff but also every player on the server to
use a wand of their choice to check any and all interactions with blocks.
This means that if anyone griefs your area you can easily check who
it was and provide extra information to staff members while they attempt
to help you. This also allows us to re-roll any and all changes made in
the game by any and all players!
Don't say we didn't warn you if you like to grief other people!

Monster Cash - Due to the player maintained economy, it can sometimes be hard for
a new player to gain his/her money, but here the monsters drop a small
amount of cash along with their normal drops to help prevent this problem.
Watch out as the stronger the monster the more money you are
likely to get, with the enderdragon giving a whopping $1000 per kill!

In-game point system - If you register with our website at http://veneficusofficial.enjin.com
you can earn points towards certain benefits such as the donation
ranks, this makes most donation options available to all players
but only if they put enough effort in!

Automatic time based ranking system - Depending on the time you spend on the server
and the actions you perform in-game, you will gain different ranks.
These will be listed below in the ranks section but the method to actually
gain these ranks will be kept a secret! Can you discover them all
and reach the highest rank on the server?

Daily Respawning Enderdragon - Sick of having to deal with the guy who
gets there first to kill the Ender dragon? No problem, we respawn the
Enderdragon once per 24 hours to give everyone the chance to kill the
mightiest boss in the game!
