Rite of Passage is a roleplay server where we set the roleplay above all else. On Rite of Passage, we work hard to make the roleplay work efficiently and we strive for realism, while at the same time allowing a somewhat free reign of mind when it comes to creativity. Rite of Passage is heavily player driven, with the moderators and admins present simply to keep everything secure and running, making the hard decisions and maintaining a good roleplay enviroment.<br>We accept experienced and new roleplayers alike, as to expand the Roleplaying community and help the newer roleplayers evolve. You play out your character the way you want to, with only a set of guidelines and restrictions put in place simply to make the roleplay appropriate for all, and not just the individual. There is some lore in place, but the lore made by the staff is not important, what is important is the lore you make, the lore you help evolve. All lore is stored on our main forums, for members to see. The land of Aanden is the civilized, explored region of the world. Despite being just one region of the globe, it is filled with varying, vastly different cultures.

Kingdom of Marsay

Considered the most wealthy and powerful kingdom in the land, the Kingdom of Marsay lies in the center of Aanden. It is a kingdom proud of its military might and its history, fighting off any enemies that have opposed them. Starting as a small kingdom, the ambitious Prince Orlay had a grand plan for his people. Quickly, he began to train a powerful army. By the time he was king, the strongest soldiers in the land were under his command. It soon swallowed its neighboring nations to form one great power. From the capital of Wrynn, the current kings of Marsay run the kingdom with an absolute but fair hand. Marsay attempts to maintain peace with all of her neighbors, no matter how inferior they may consider them. It is also one of the few safe havens of magic in the world, with all forms of the arcane arts being freely taught without fear of persecution. They worship the Sacred Six, their group of gods governing the heavens and earth.

Rockheid Union

The Rockheid Union is the newcomer in Aanden. They are a group of mountain men hailing from the northern mountains that have expanded into the land in search of a new home. A new and unusually bitter cold, at least by northland standards, and the resulting lack of food has sent settlers from most tribes south. This surge of settlers formed their own small villages and towns, each isolated and independent. However, this put them at risk of attack by their unified neighbors. A brilliant leader by the name of Rockheid, through a combination of diplomacy and war, brought the people together. Sure enough, when a kingdom (that is now part of Marsay) planned on removing the “northern infestation”, the tribes were ready. The “barbarians” brutalized the organized army and made the point that they were not to be messed with.The people of the new union were known as “Rockheid’s people”, or today as just the “Rockheid.” The union is made up of small, independent holds which all answer to the Chief Rockheid at the castle of Dun Ost. The Rockheid people are primarily pagan and unorganized in their religious beliefs. They have the strongest and most hardy warriors in Aanden, but care little for the arcane arts. They tend to keep to themselves but will treat trespassers with the utmost harshness.
