1. Be respectful towards other players and their creations - racist, sexist, homophobic, and any other derogatory comments will not be tolerated. Bullying and other antagonistic behaviors will also not be tolerated.



2. Do not disrupt chat - spamming, excessive use of all caps, begging and whining for free stuff, and complaining are highly discouraged. Please use the provided MCMMO party chat (/ptp). If you have questions about plugins or commands, refer to the /help command,the guidebook, or google before asking staff.



3. Do not grief - do not mistaken raiding for griefing however. Griefing is when excessive damage is caused for no other purpose than to antagonize other players. Using TnT and/or creepers, for instance, to break through a wall during a raid is not griefing.



4. PvP and raiding are allowed - raiding is defined as breaking into an enemy faction's base to steal their stuff. The use of swords and explosives is encouraged - see rule #3 for clarification. PvP and subsequently stealing peoples' stuff is also encouraged. Do no spawn kill or TP kill however. Bad sportsmanship is looked down upon highly!



5. Do not, in any way, alter the mechanics of the game via external sources - do not use hacks! Clients and mods that allow you to x-ray, fly, auto-click etc. are strictly prohibited. You will be banned!



6. Keep the environment clean - please try to fill creeper holes and chop down floating treetops. Please clean up 1x1 nerdpoles and old dirt/cobble/wood huts you abandon. Every little bit helps, thanks!



7. If any rules are unclear or if a staff member doesn't follow the rules, report via /mail send to the server owner. Rules are subject to change - leave any ideas in the suggestion box at spawn!



8. Most importantly, have fun! Refer to the Zen Guidebook for information about the server's plugins, overall goals, and other, more specific information.

Speaking of fun, I would like to announce something a little different about this version of Zen Village:



 PUB WARS 



Let me clarify:



The themes and goals of this server, while it is at its heart a factions server, are a bit different.


Each faction may participate and will be given rewards for completing goals set out at spawn. While Factions are still the foundation for the server, less of an emphasis will be placed on raiding and PvP and more on the construction of the most badass taverns and inns you can conceive of!

Pub Creation

There are a few steps involved in the creation of a proper pub and inn - one that will be judged and awarded by your fellow players and server staff.




1. The first step is coming up with a theme for your pub. Having a theme, such as nether pub or dwarven inn, will make it easier to design other elements of your establishment down the road. For example: The Blue Boar Tavern and Inn at spawn is a pretty typical medieval pub, but when creating various rooms and features, I kept in mind one word: Adventure! This is where players begin their journey and where they can recover from arduous trials.

2. Next, you'll want to do some exploration to hunt down and protect a site for not only your pub/inn, but for your base. While it is preferred that pubs/inns be above ground, it is not required, especially if your theme calls for it. Claim your land and get building!

3. The most important factors considered when reviewing a pub/inn will be the quality of its menu (food and booze), the potential for good bar fights, and the quality of accommodations. Pairing the right food with the right drink is an important process (provide lore if you'd like!) - check out the brewery in the Blue Boar basement for examples of how the Brewery plugin functions. Having comfy rooms, repairing and healing services, and stables, for example, will improve the experience and overall reviews of your pub/inn. Attention to detail will make your establishment not only praised, but lucrative.

4. Remember, have fun and be creative! There is no wrong theme and interesting, unique ideas are encouraged!
