I tried using a darker palette for this skin

of one of the super duper old storybooks

In Japanese, the name given to Red Riding Hood is "Akazukin" (赤頭巾)
赤 (あか) meaning red
頭巾 (ずきん) meaning either hood or kerchief

A girl named after her striking red cloak,
goes off to bring food to her poor, sick
and frail grandmother. Aided with nothing
but a basket with food, all she did was
attract the attention of the Big Bad Wolf.

"Pick up flowers!" was all he said,
to get the naive little girl to obey.
And while she did, he ran to granny's,
gobbled her up, and wore her clothes.

"Granny, oh granny, your voice is so deep!"
