Chapter 1: Out Past Bedtime.

Danielle shivered as she stepped out of the house and into the cold breeze. She hugged herself, trying to gain warmth from her sweater.

A few minutes later she came across an alley. Danielle could tell it was dark all the time, even at night.
She stood next to it patiently, waiting for something.

Her hair practically slapped her in the face as a strong wind came swooshing past.
She pulled on her shoes, then crossed the street.

She pulled her phone out of her bag and went back to a certain page that appeared many times in her search history.

Danielle scrolled, seeing the alley she was standing at pop up continuously in her photos.

Danielle's head snapped up as a pebble hit a wall behind her, through the silence sounding like a crack of thunder. She used her phone camera to look behind her, and the sight didn't surprise Danielle.

She looked around to see if there was anyone else there, and then reached into her bag.
