~§°Hai Guys!°§~
Twitch… Twitch… I heard warbled sounds in the distance. Everything was hazy and everything was painful— the noise that suddenly surrounded me, the unseen grips biting into my wrists and ankles, the blinding light that glared at me from above. I didn’t know what was going on, what was happening. Something thudded hard and unsteadily in my chest. It was foreign and forced. None of this was natural, nothing was right.
The once distorted sounds now became more coherent, I could hear the excitement in an elderly man’s voice. My eyes, however, still couldn’t focus on anything through the harsh light. Suddenly, the man screamed, “HE’S ALIVE!”
My senses cleared and I became hyper-aware of everything around me. The pain only intensified. An earth-shattering roar reverberated from the metal walls of the small room, after a moment I realized it was me making the voice. I fell back against my restraints, panting. I could feel the labored rise and fall of my chest, the aching thud of my heart, the twitching in my muscles that didn’t feel like they should be even operating—or even a part of me for that matter.
I looked down at myself and my breath caught. My skin was a sickly dark green color. It was garish and scared. Stitches and cuts crisscrossed everywhere. My body looked sewn together like a piece of cloth and I held back a gasp of horror. My large muscular frame racketed with a shudder and I heard a cruel chuckle at my side. The surface I was laying on began to rise, lifting me into an almost-standing position, and showing me the face to the man I’d heard before. His hair was graying and wispy, and his eyes were a cold pale blue. I watched as he looked me over in pride. I could only grimace in disgust and pain. My whole body, if this could classify as a body, was rejecting every part of itself, no part of me belonged with anything else. And here, this joker was laughing and looking at me like I was some prize.
Who am I? What am I?

I chose this character in particular for a few different reasons. Not only is he an age-old classic and Halloween tradition, but no one really cared to realize how the "monster" himself felt at the time of his resurrection, or really the rest of his existence. He was mistreated and misunderstood. A perfect, yet horrific, blend of monster and man. The idea of Frankenstein's monster may not be so original, especially pertaining to Halloween, but I'm happy to represent him in a different light.
