Uniform somewhat representative of what a Belgian non-commissioned officer might wear in the last few years of the First World War. Throughout the war, French-Belgian soldiers operated alongside their French counterparts on the Western front, and as such their uniforms appeared similarly: French soldiers primarily wearing sky blue, red, and navy blue, and Belgian soldiers wearing navy blue, sky blue, and yellow. In 1917, the Belgian army retired its old 1914 pattern uniforms and fielded a new olive drab colored set in the form of the 1917 pattern. This included revisions for every rank and station, and was a stark contrast to the sky blue uniforms that French enlisted still fielded, and would continue to field until after the conclusion of the war.
