This isn't my best writing, but enjoy!
The prototype of the 57XX-12 Arctic Explorer was built in the 1950's with the original purpose to study wildlife in areas with conditions the normal human could not stand. The prototype was put to the side however, because Dr. Frendeui, the project manager, had his funding cut due to previous failures. So the discarded model was left abandoned in a warehouse in a classified area of Germany... that is until a group of Russian spies found the warehouse in the year 2017. They found the old 57XX-12 model and decided to dismantle it and smuggle it back into Mother Russia.
After successfully smuggling the robot into Russia, the spies handed it over to the government. Russian scientists examined and remade the old model into a newer, more modern piece of technology. As the Russians learned about the history of the robot that they were working on, they decided to add weapons to their new "project." Since 57XX-12 was modeled to work in extremely cold weather conditions, the Russians had the perfect place to test it- the wastelands of Anadyr, far north of the Cherskiy Mountain range.
Model 57XX-12 worked even better than the Russians had expected. It had the capabilities of leveling mountains with its destructive laser implants. The energy that powered the robot was a nuclear energy sphere that was a new breakthrough in technology, making it ahead of even Americans. As Russia planned to deploy their new weapon against for the first time in battle, declaring World War III, the cruiser carrying the "Russian Revenge", as the robot was was dubbed, had a malfunctioned engine and sank to the depths of the Arctic, where the model 57XX-12 still lies to this day. Or does it?

Have been at sea for 29 days now. We entered Arctic waters yesterday. Today the captain has been talking about a robot of some sorts that could help us in our struggle against the re-uprising of communism worldwide. I'm not sure what he means... anyways, I hope to be home by Christmas Day to see my family.
