Ahaha, I'm flattered, really.

I use GIMP for everything. It's really versatile. It's like mspaint but better; it's like photoshop but free and opensource!

And if you keep it up, you will become awesome. Learning to shade is a constant process, and I'm still in the middle of it. My best advice is to never just stick with a single style. Try new things and see what fits; challenge every idea. That way you'll never fall into a rut, and every skin you make will teach you a new way to refine your style!
