In an alternate future, Superman/Kal El crashes at Gotham City near Wayne Manor instead of around the Kent's home in Kansas. Instead of being named Clark like he is in the mainstream universe, he is instead named Bruce by his adoptive parents. After his parents are gunned down during a mugging, their assailant then shoots at him like he did his parents, bullets are seen to have no effect on him, with Bruce retaliating by using his newly discovered powers, lasering their attacker to death. Bruce then becomes a more ruthless, superpowered, and violent Batman (he even wears a full face mask), but he then meets Lois Lane who he falls in love with and inspires him to drop the dark and brooding Batman persona for the more hopeful Superman identity.
