my entry for canday's Wheel Contest
THEME: monochromatic
OK so when I got the theme "monochromatic",, i was at a complete loss- i couldn't just limit my palette to literally the same color/palette,, otherwise the skin's potential is hugely reduced with lack of hue-shifting & color contrast. sO. instead of making the skin --actually-- monochromatic, i made the character such, and added a colored light source. The character is a sort of endlessly dormant, colorless, almost stone-esque angel/fairy. I thought it'd be interesting for the light & color to be behind her, and her eyes to be closed,, as if she's unaware of what/who she really is. idek im just rambling at this point hehh its 7am and i havent slept asjdhaisjuda
ANYWAYYYY this skin looks 10000000000x better with a black background >:C

soBBbb it"S SO bEAUtiFUll!!!! you did the light source so well and the colors are soo pleasing oh my gosh!! i was super curious about what you were going to enter with your theme and dang you KILLED IT!! i have to say, the wings on this are such uniquely shaped !! i have seen butterfly wings in the past but i have never seen them look this elegant hahaha. i usually don't tackle with transparency (on the 2nd layer at least) because i never know how to use it but woahh it really does make the light source look more glowy compared to the skindex one with no transparencies (>:C cmon skindex add transparencies!!) i literally can't get over the glow!! the blue you used,, it's just so pretty. it's very inspiring for sure :,)) on top of this, the clothes!! the hECKING clothes!!! it's so fitting and elegant as well!! i really appreciate how you incorporated the bow from the waist to the hair crown! she is freaking stunning and ALSO has LONG hAIR!!! (freakishly long hair, lol i love that tag) some of the tags made me laugh tbh. and "whatisthisskin"? it's A MASTERPIECE that's what it is!!! holy freaking cow how long did this take??? for once i am actually taking a look at every single pixel and appreciating how beautiful it is. it's just.... amazing! this is definitely one of my favorite skins of yours,,, good luck in the contest!!! honestly, if this doesn't get in the top three im going to be pretty sad.
this is officially the longest comment i've ever written, with over 400 words. this is going to become an essay soon (i hope pmc can fit this much text) but once again, stunning job!!! you picked a really nice color to work with and it ended up SOO PReTTY!! AAAAHH imagine making this... omg omg sorry you had to read all of this. it was all over the place, i hope you can understand it!! i just wanted to express my love because this is one of the most beautiful skins i have seen in a while!! it's pure beauty. i've probably said beautiful a million times but wowwww it's SO BEAUTIFULLL

but srsly i read the whole thing and ive never felt so appreciated for a skin before xD ((even the tags LOL))
aside from a couple minor changes,, i made the skin all at once without taking a break,, which is weird for me haha. Once i had the idea of what i wanted it to look like, the rest came along really quickly ((also the light source was super fun to do))- i've had other skins take longer before,, even though I'd say this is probably one of my skins technique-wise.

woww,, on a skin like this? i could never do it in one sitting. it takes me at least a few days to get something like this done :,,) light sources are for sure fun, but they do take quite a while.
