You may want to either go back or stay in school. The union soldiers wore dark blue and confederates wore gray. And unless they were not on duty their uniforms were NOT vests.

Perhaps his uniforms color is worn out? They didn't replace these uniforms all the time.

I am aware. My intention was that this person was not on on duty. If you are saying his pants are gray, then technically yes, they are but they have a blue-ish tint. I'm not that ignorant to say confederates wore blue and union soldiers wore gray, I know basic american history. Thanks for your input.
