Story My name doesn't matter. All you need to know I am a man, Was one. I remember years ago when this amazing discovery of steam came into play. We all would modify ourselves. Some more than others. Personally I wasn't into changing myself. I loved me for who I was. It's ironic isn't it? That I am saying this even though the only true part of myself is half my face. I didn't choose to be this way. Well I sort of did. I started shortly after the fad of steam and people discovered things like electricity. Things quickly progressed from there. We advanced so rapidly that our tastes didn't change much. The only difference was that instead of cogs and gears we had outlets and wires. Instead of the warm browns and reds we switched to harsh greys and blues. I didn't like this change. Then it happened. I lost my arm. I lost it in an accident of course. I was working at a sheet metal factory when one of the laser saws went haywire. Next thing I know my arm was singed off. The doctor replaced it with a skeletal metal decoy that was supposed to be my new arm. I was disgusted at first then I came to grow fond of it. I started to actually like this change. I could't feel pain in that arm and my strength was greater then it ever was before. The it happened I was addicted. I started inflicting pain on myself to get my fake robotic counterparts. Now look at me today. I am more machine then man. People look at me like I am a freak. And I am. I wear a mask to fit in and try to look and act like every other android. My dreams will never come true now. My nightmares already have. Everyday I deal with the emotional pain of knowing that I won't accomplish anything. I will never have a family, never have any friends. I am a hunk of metal with the emotions of a man.
