Here's a bit from the story:

Dawn looked up at the sky through her glass ceiling. It was completely clear. Well, clear aside from the smoke from factories and ash and dust from explosions and arson; that was there since Dawn was born. She liked it, actually. Old books from the last century, now classified as classics, always told stories about how the world would end up like this. Dawn enjoyed reading them. The "apocalypse" that Dawn and her family lived in was sometimes like the books, and sometimes not.
When the sky got dark, Dawn shut the metal cover that secured her glass ceiling. Monsters or thieves could break the glass and get in if she didn't. Dawn called across the house, "I'm going to sleep, mom!" She heard a response from her mother. She couldn't quite hear it, but her mom probably said something like, "Okay, I'm staying out here if you need me."
The whole house was dark. The only sound was of Dawn's mom, brother, and dad all snoring. Dawn opened her eyes, like she usually did, and climbed out of bed to go to her closet. From there, she got out her favorite hunting boots and a gas mask to go outside. She closed her door tight and put on her gas mask and her boots. Dawn opened her window and jumped the 7 feet to the ground. She breathed in, and the smell of polluted air came through her gas mask and into her nose. The apocalypse might have been happening, but Dawn liked it.

That's the beginning of my story!

Her gas mask isn't in the skin because it would mess the whole thing up, and sorry about not having her description in the story!
