Sonic the Hedgehog is the titular protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog from another planet born with extraordinary powers, most notably his incredible speed.


Back in his world from his childhood, Sonic raced through the island, showing off until he found himself sought after by a tribe of echidnas for his power. His guardian, Longclaw, gives him a bag of rings that open portals to other planets. She uses one to send him to Earth while she fends off the echidnas.



Ten years later, Sonic enjoys a secret life near the town of Green Hills, Montana, but longs to make friends. He idolizes the local sheriff, Tom Wachowski, and his veterinarian wife, Maddie, but after he accidentally knocks all the power across the Pacific Northwest while playing baseball all by himself, Sonic is now on the run from the government, who hires the mad scientist, Dr. Robotnik, whose goal was to capture Sonic and use his powers to conquer the world and it's up to Sonic, who must stop him from plotting his evil plans with the help from Tom, and keep him off the trail and away from his friends. At the climax battle, Sonic used his speed-powers against Robotnik and defeats him by banishing him to the Mushroom Planet and saved his friends. Following the incident, Sonic happily resettles on Earth and begins his new life to live with the Wachowski family.
