Here's my entry for CrispingChicken's Dinosaur Contest. Hehe, you join as well...get the chance to win Gmod (a game I've been wanting but never have the money for).

This is not the Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus....as the JP version is so far off that it's almost shameful. For one, the real Dilophosaurus was not poisonous...no evidence in the fossils has ever pointed to that possibility. In fact, there hasn't been any evidence that any dinosaur from that period was venomous (though, the Sinornithosaurus caused a bit of a stir).

Another thing, that may have been more excusable, was that there's no evidence that the dilophosaurus had a frill around its neck. The reason I say that is because something like a frill may not have been preserved in a fossil...but hey, the imprints of feathers get preserved, so I'm not convinced.

The real dilophosaurus was actually much bigger than the pipsqueak in Jurassic Park. The real thing measured to about 20 ft long and likely weighed in at about 1,000 lbs. Sure, chances are the individual in the movie was a baby, but that was never implied.

Anyways, I hope you like my interpretation of this awesome but often misunderstood dinosaur.
