I wouldn't mind giving the Dragon Quest 9 hero a shot. Although, from what I can tell all the characters are customizable? I found a couple of the guy on the cover, but a few have him in different clothing/armor. If you can find a picture or two of him I'll be glad to try it sometime.

its customisable in-game, but the charachter starts off with an angelic, celestrial suit type-thing. if you look it up, im sure there is a picture somewhere in google images.
