This is Elaine, a water nymph.

Her two piece dress is made from flowing water because... uh, magic!

In fact I lied to you, Elaine is a night water nymph, shown by her dark purple complexion and glowing blue clothes (the day water nymphs have the opposite: light blue complexion and dark purple clothes).

The darker skin and brighter clothes are used to disguise themselves in the night as fireflies however you can always tell a nymph from a firefly due to their electric blue glow.

In the evening, Elaine's job is to flit from lily to lily over her home pond and close their petals ready for the night ahead, and at midnight, Elaine watches the fireflies dance their pretty dances. When dawn arrives, she settles under the reeds by the edge of the pond, tucks herself in under an oak leaf and falls asleep as the day nymphs begin to wake up.

Once, when she was little, she was chased by a frog and now she's terrified of the slimy things.

She also has a little bit of a temper but overall, she's rather kind.
