Forn Anarth was one of the two sons of King Dullem Anarth, the aged ruler of Shandoah, home of the elf-like Duine. Forn and his brother Harad were intended to be joint rulers over Shandoah, much like the Atlantean Prince Oceanus and his sister, Princess Oceana. However, both Forn and Harad were both jealous of each other, each wanting the throne for themselves. They hired assassins to kill each other, attempted to poison each other, and many other things in order to rise to what they believed was their rightful place as King of Shandoah.

This sparked what is known as the Pureblood War today in Zoris. Both Harad and Forn sent brothers and sisters against each other, bringing wanton death to the icy hills of the newly-formed Snowcastle and summer valleys of the kingdom of Darnath. The war raged through the nation of Shandoah, until many fled from the cities due to the constant attacks from what their leaders considered the enemy. Those who remained were barred from leaving the island nation, and the war began to move southwest, towards the archipelago of Selva-Terra, home of the Tigris. Upon hearing of this approaching invasion of one of the Nations, the leaders of each of the Nations, sans Shandoah, counselled what they should do to prevent the Pureblood War from involving any of their people, since the other Nations of Zoris were still recovering from the 3rd Great War that ravaged their lands.

They soon wrote up a treaty, which is know as the Treaty of Purebloods today, which would set a border between the two halves of Shandoah. Neither Forn nor Harad signed it, however; both were slain in the final battle of the Pureblood War, known as the Battle of Lost Brothers. As word reached the rest of Shandoah, they decided that if their old rulers could not live in unity, and new leaders were chosen. These leaders agreed to sign the Treaty of Purebloods, and the border between Northern and Southern Shandoah was soon established afterwards.
