Since December 8, 2021, the post of Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany has been occupied by Olaf Scholz (SPD), since March 19, 2017, the position of Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany has been occupied by Frank-Walter Steinmeier (SPD), who performs representative functions in the country.
The capital is Berlin. The official language is German.
