Grasshoppers

Grasshoppers are herbivorous insects known for their powerful hind legs used for jumping and their ability to blend into their surroundings through camouflage. They are part of the suborder Caelifera within the order Orthoptera, which also includes crickets and katydids. Grasshoppers are typically medium to large insects with chewing mouthparts and two pairs of wings. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis, meaning they hatch from eggs as nymphs and gradually develop into adults through a series of molts.
