Gur'thok was born to a chief of one of the orcish tribes sent on the run by the invaders from Upperreach. Born as a sickly, thin, runt. His father was disgusted, and ordered one of the hunters of the tribe to leave him in the woods, as food for any beast who found him. The hunter obliged, leaving him in a dark corner of the woodlands.

However, he was not found by a beast. Instead, a ranger living among the trees found the defenseless child, bundled in a hide. He took pity on the babe, and carried him home to his wife, who tended to him. They raised him, alongside the daughter they had when he was two, to live like a beast among the woods, as a warrior, an archer, and a predator.

Gur'thok learned well, one single thought dominating his mind: Killing the man who left him to die. His own father, who held less compassion for him then a stranger of another race. The thought grew in his mind, until Gur'thok reached the age of 20, and took his armor and sword, made of worn iron, and searched for his tribe.

After a week of hard, dedicated, and grueling search, Gur'thok found those who cast him out, and found his father. The young orc demanded the older warrior fight him in a duel to the death.

His father obliged, and nearly killed Gur'thok. Before dealing the killing blow, he issued an insult to his son: "I was right. You are a worthless runt." Gur'thok was thrown into a bloody rage. His father, standing above him, was smashed to the ground, and tackled by the younger orc, who used his father's sword to sever the owner's head.

As the last action before he left his tribe forever, he soaked his fingers in his father's blood, and the juice of a plant aptly named 'Skull Blood', and permanently smeared his face with the blood of his first kill, next to the scar that cost him the sight in his right eye, and his left tusk, dealt by the very blade he now held.

And with that, he left the astonished on-lookers, who saw the small runt they left to die in the woods rise up, and defeat one of the greatest warriors that ever walked among the orcs.

Gur'thok was lost, however. Revenge had consumed his entire life, and now that he had gained it, he had no goals, no motives, and no reason to fight. He found his way back to his home easily, and found his true family, the one that loved him, and trusted him, and knew what his goal was.

He was going to protect his sister, through anything she might go through.
