it was a rainy night. the crew was ready to go to sleep when suddenly they hear it. the quiet humming from a female. they all panicked and raced below deck, covering their ears with their hands. all men but one went down under. he was a young sailor, one who had clearly never been out in this part of the sea. he found the song intriguing, so of course, he investigated. he reached the side of the boat and looked over the side to see a girl climbing up the side. he was so mesmerized by the music he didn't notice her pale blue skin, the fact that she had fins instead of ears, and her pointy teeth just barely poking out of her lips. her dark red eyes pierced through his. she softened her gaze as she reached the deck and hopped over the side. she started humming more loudly as she reached out to his face and caressed the side of it. they never broke eye contact, not once. she walked around him, turning his head as she strutted, swaying her hips. she backed up to the edge of the boat and just stared at him. at this point she was singing now, not just humming. she smirked before leaning back and falling off of the boat. he gasped and jumped over to save her, clearly not thinking rationally. she had him under her spell. once he was in the water, he couldn't find her. she took this as her chance to sneak up on him. still singing, she attacked him, biting his neck hard with her sharp teeth. she also found a sharpened piece of coral, which she used to stab him through the heart. as we was bleeding out and she was dragging him deeper into the sea, he wasn't focused on the fact that he was almost dead, or that his crew mates might be in danger, no, he was focused on that beautiful music that put him in a trance. his head was filled with her song.
