Hozuki Yayoi from Dark Gathering

Yayoi lives with her cousin Hozuki Eiko in Eiko's house. She was born with a condition in her eyes that allows her to see the spiritual world and normal world at the same time. Yayoi was in a car accident two years prior to the start of the current timeline, where she lost her parents. She was 7 years old at the time. Very soon after, she became a genius as a result of her injury in the car crash. Also, she got to witness her mother's spirit getting kidnapped by a powerful spirit right after she died in the accident. Because of this, Yayoi swore to free her mother from its clutches and kill it. Yayoi started to collect spirits and killed gods with them in order to build a stronger army so that she could defeat her enemy. When Keitaro became her tutor, she was able to attract more spirits and beat them quicker than before because she used him as bait. Keitaro almost died virtually every time they hunted spirits.
