King Herbard

King Herbard was born into royalty in the year 1253, Growing up he did not follow his duties as seen and there forth his younger brother Prince Gael took hold of the kingdom. Prince Gael was a great ruler and expanded the kingdom greatly but the power he had that was his upcoming was his downfall, for all he wanted was more power, and even when he was having trouble handling his kingdom he was trying still to expand, Prince Gaels brother King Herbard saw this and with his loyal men took hold of the castle of Hagmah, a key shipping port along a large soft river flowing for hundreds of miles in both East and West. After and this feat he made peace with some surrounding kingdoms and sent them information about his brother Prince Gaels forces in exchange for weapons and food.
After having a foot hold, King Herbard Struck forward and gathered more forces from his kingdom, convincing everyone that he had changed and was ready to rule the kingdom, and that Prince Gael was to destructive and would lay waste to their land. When he then had enough troops he sent a charge on Prince Gael, but the Princes troops surrendered and bowed down to King Herbard. After having captured Prince Gael they sold him to one of the Kingdoms they were at war with for peace.
Having taken his rightful place in his kingdom King Herbard Strengthened his kingdom. But one day after the mornings meal in 1286 the King died from a food poisoning, no one knew who did it but everyone accused an opposing kingdom of the crime, furious their forces clashed, but having no leader, King Herbards armies fell, and his kingdom with it...

I created this story! It is not true, and neither is King Herbard, nor Prince Gael, but part of the reason I decided to enter this competition was so that I would make some sort of cool story, and I think I did pretty good with this one

FACTS ABOUT THE SEPHIAN KINGDOM (That's the Kingdom they are in)
-They had little gold there, in fact they believed gold was a cursed thing and should not be seen UNLESS it was strung in a circle around the head, in which case was believed to give protection from Devils within the earth
-Blue was a sacred color to them, they had plenty of it from a certain crab with blue blood, using a certain method they were able to soak cloth other things that would absorb the die. Light blue was the most sacred color for them because they believed that the most powerful spirit was the Water Spirit and water mixed with this die made a light blue, however, getting this into the fabric was much harder and so had to have tens of cycles before taking a decent color
-Knights and their Kings would place light pieces of blue fabric on them to show that they were all loyal to the Water Spirit Sepia, Families would also place light blue pieces of fabric around there children for protection
-The symbol on there chest represents the Water spirit, the people of Sephian were more loyal to the Water spirit then their King, and the King also worshiped the Water Spirit, so the King was more of a leader then their ruler, This is how their Kingdom stayed strong for the years it lasted, even when the King died and a new King was chosen, they never lost their true hope!

(Once again don't take this seriously I'm making this up)
