This is a person wearing kitsune (fox) mask, kimono and uchikake (outer kimono or overcoat). Could be in some festival or in theory kabuki, but I suppose they would paint their face instead of wearing a mask.

The fabric colors are chosen for May. The uchikake features purple flower rafts that could be for example iris (shoubu or ayame). The hem is padded (with the red fabric) as an uchikake is worn so that it trails on the floor. Underneath the uchikake is a another kimono, hiyoku. Even this ensemble does contain an obi, but as it is wrapped around the inner kimono it doesn't show on top of the uchikake. However, the obi is often tied in bunko musubi in these cases and it does lift the uchikake at the back. I've tried to add shading and a coat-layer to indicate the obi underneath.

As a kimono would only be worn trailing indoors, the person isn't wearing geta or zori (shoes) and only has tabi (socks). The hair is done in an improvised shimada hairstyle to make it look a little bit more like a fox with fur and to make room for the ears.

Kimonos are a hobby of mine and I try to make them look realistic. Uchikake are fancy outer kimonos that have motif all over them, also on the waist section that is often undecorated on other kimonos as the obi would hide any pattern on them anyway. The most common scene in which uchikake and hiyoku are used today are weddings but I'm guessing it could easily be worn also as a costume in kabuki. Other small and important details I would like to mention are that the collar is folded with the left side overlapping the right, and the collar is pulled down at the back to reveal the nape of the neck. I've also revealed a small slice of the inner kimono at the sleeve openings.
