Undertale is an AU of Deltarune and vice versa
DELTARUNE Is set in an alternate universe where monsters and humans live on the surface world, and have absolutely no revolt or war whatsoever, WHILST IN UNDERTALE, The humans and monsters have a revolt and trap the monsters in the underground using a spell. A human climbs Mt. Ebott in the year 201X and trips over a twig, causing them to fall, WHILST IN DELTARUNE, A human called Kris and a monster called Susie find an abandoned closet in their school, they enter and the papers start to fall, and they fall into the dark world.
And that's why Undertale and Deltarune aren't related.
