Deep beneath the relentless motion of the tides, far below the waters where colorful fish swim in motions that can only be described as the beautiful dance of survival, there lies the ocean floor; A world so alien to what most know that some animals that live at such unfathomable depths appear more often in books than aquariums, and even more have yet to be seen through anything more than the sketches and nightmares of frightened sailors.

Humanity is as persistent to understand the unknown as they are filled with dread by it, however, and will evermore insist upon exploring every corner of the world they knew. Even if their desperate expeditions cost them more that they could hope to regain, and especially if the finite resource of time is all they have to sacrifice.

So it was when the Diver was sent into the darkest reaches of the ocean, them and their team filled with the hopes of discovering every secret there was to know about the ecosystems thrive beyond any human sight. They dove in, equipped only with a suit could light up the abyss of the caverns they were doubtless to find, and enough potions to get them to the surface if things went wrong.

Soon enough, they became trapped. By what or whom, they can't remember. All they can recall is that they were isolated from humanity for what must have been months, and they are eager to return home. But little do they realize that once they finish the grueling climb to the surface, they will only find that civilization has progressed far past what months or years would allow, and has ultimately decayed.
