Magnates is a guild, occurring only in Gothic. This is the highest social stratum in Old Camp. Magnates are the richest in the entire colony. The strongest convicts were just magnates.They live in a castle in the old camp. Their leader was Gomez, who has ruled with an iron hand in the Old Camp.
